Up to 1,200 megahertz of spectrum near 6 GHz will see new uses and likely higher performance applications in bids to spur unlicensed use, recent announcements and notices in the U.S. indicated.  Proposed rules aim to spur high data-rate applications across the 6 GHz band.  A final rule spurs two types of unlicensed operations in the 6 GHz band.
